Coven Chronicles: Magickal

Magickal

(Coming September 22nd, 2024)

Two teenagers on the secretive Island of Faodail have finally joined the ranks of their predecessors: they’ve begun to have dreams of their past life. This is a natural cycle on the Isle that Katiyana has been waiting for ever since she turned sixteen the previous April. Having been raised in the Coven, she knows exactly what’s happening. Vincent, however, does not. He was raised outside of the circle of magic users, and is bewildered by every new piece of information these sequential dreams drop on him. As the month passes, they slowly put together that they’re dreaming of each other. With the help of their mutual friends, and Coven members who have already been through the process, the teens work through revelations both comforting and terrifying. Everything does happen for a reason, especially on Faodail, they just never expected it to be like this.

Coven Chronicles: Magickal  is an introduction to the Island of Faodail, through the lens of someone steeped in its history and magic, and someone learning everything for the first time. This dual-POV story will lead you through each dream and everything surrounding it, unfolding the past Katiyana and Vincent shared together, and the future they could build with each other.

Katiyana has been waiting basically since birth for her past life dreams to begin, the sign she’s finally ready to start the training her mother, aunts, cousins, and friends have gone through already. She knows she was born to be part of the coven. As soon as her dreams begin, she dives into researching and cataloging them immediately, just as she’s been taught to do.

Vincent has no concept of destiny, how could he when he’s just been making sure he wakes up every morning? As soon as he starts having befuddling dreams about the 1920s, everything gets more complicated. Especially when the girl in his dreams looks way too much like the classmate he’s been crushing on secretly for years. They seem too weird to not record, so he begins a list of events.

Alena has been on the outskirts of the magical side of the island for as long as she’s been friends with Katiyana and the others. Up until last year, nothing ever struck her as particularly strange. But her worldview was near-shattered when the idea of past lives got put on her radar, and now it’s happening again. She was prepared to hold Katiyana’s hand just like she held Jamari’s, but now there’s a lot more going on.

Jamari has already been through the process. Last year, her own past life was revealed to her and she discovered aspects of herself and her relationships that pushed her to change for the better. Now her friends are going through it, and she’s been sworn to secrecy. She has all the answers but isn’t allowed to share them.

Fleur watched her sister grow and change last year. Now her friends are doing the same. If the pattern follows, she’ll be up to bat next year. Until then, she’s keeping record of everything they tell her so she can be prepared, and so they don’t lose their own info like they always do. Ever the caretaker, nothing will escape her notice.

Dan didn’t mean to get tangled up in the magic side of Faodail. All he really wanted was to go on a date, but fate decided otherwise. Now instead of having one person permanently at his side, he has five. And the chance they’ve been there for longer than he realizes is getting much more likely.
